Wonderful Christmas!

What a great Christmas we all had! This will truly be a memorable one for many reasons. The storm kind of fizzled out due to some warm air that came into play. That warm air changed the snow in out from freezing drizzle to ice making for dangerous roads and very little in the way of snow but we did get more than enough for a white Christmas.

Max was feeling much better with his fever gone and spent most of Christmas at our house since Pete's parents were out of town. Grandma had fun playing with him and making sure he had some much needed naps so he can continue to get better. The best part of my day was when he layed his little head down on my shoulder and cuddled into me. He doesn't cuddle a whole lot being the little boy toddler that he is so those moments are priceless.

Christmas morning we all waited for Max and Rachel to show up and then opened up our presents. We did invest in a computer for Rachel since she has been sticking with the college idea and could really use it at this point. Rhi's big gift was a new phone which she loves! I got Jon a new camara lens that he has been wanting and he got me a car. Finally! The Durango has had so many problems and is now beyond help (transmission-over 150,000 miles). I was very surprised and can't wait for it to arrive! The storm held up their shipments so I am still waiting but I am very excited! The sales guy claims that they must have the car sold and off the lot before the New Year to have it count as part of their special sale "a December to remember" promotion. It is now Dec 30 and it didn't arrive today so if it comes tomorrow the guy may have to drive it down to Rochester for me since Jon is on call and I will have no car and now way to go up to the cities to get it. We will see what happens. It should be interesting!

Jon's mom left this past Saturday which was a bummer. I like having her. She is an easy and fun houseguest and helps out alot! This week has been full of errands and appointments. I don't want to spend my entire break this way but it does feel good to have so much done. I have my eyes taken care of for the next year along with a new pair of glasses (old ones are almost 7 years old), my cyst was removed today (YESSSSSS!!!) and my last impressions where done at the Orthodentist to pull my crooked front tooth back to where it belongs. Jon had the check cut for the car, organized some of our tax information and put four brand new tires on his car. *Sigh*. Oh, I finally got the bookshelf I ordered 8 weeks ago too so I can finally pull all of my books out of the study closet and actually be able to see and use them! They have been in there since we moved into this house 5 years ago!

Jon has to go on call tomorrow but he will be back on Saturday. Tracy went to see her mom in Fargo but she should be back tomorrow to keep me and Rhi company for the New Year. Jon and I did manage to go see Avatar which was fantastic! I loved it. Jon is not interested in Sherlock Holmes so I am hoping to go see that with Rhi and Tracy at some point. I also want to see The Road. I'll probably have to wait since it was a limited release and never came here. I read the book and loved it so I am curious.

Jon has a bad cold. I really hope his call isn't too bad but what should we expect on a full moon New Year's Eve? I am going to get some rest myself. The excised cyst area hurts and I should rest. Lots of good thoughts and prayers go out to Sue who is dealing with much more discomfort and frustration than I to be sure. Sue, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Sometimes all the experts can't see the forest through the trees... Follow your own instincts and don't give up!
