I Give You the Best I Have

February has passed quickly for me. I was very gratified to finally attend the Minnesota Music Educators convention in Minneapolis with Tracy. It has been about 5 years since we were last there. It was fun to drive up in the Lexus and spend some time together doing music teacher stuff. It is disappointing, however, to see the convention turn increasingly less elementary and more secondary. There wasn't as much as there usually is for us but we did come away with some new things.

Jon and I are bidding on a house that is right down the street for Rachel. It is time she gets out of Pete's parents' house and lives on her own. We were going to get her an apartment but the price is the same as a mortgage so we figured we would invest. I like the idea of her being right down the road too. If you step into the middle of our cul-de-sac you can see her back deck and the back of her house (well, our house!). I want her to have her own space and Max to have his own room, etc... She is taking two classes this semester and will sign up for summer classes as well. It is a slow and steady road for her. She can't take her anatomy 2 class until she meets the math requirement so she is working on that.

We are waiting to hear on the bid and also deciding if we will still go to Orlando over Spring Break. We'll see. I really want to go even though it involves a plane. The last time I was there was with Tom and I'd really like to build some new memories. I think Rhi is at the perfect age for Disneyworld and that we would have a blast!

I had a really nice dream the other night. It had three white birds in it. I can't really say they were doves. They were smaller and looked more like some kind of songbirds. They landed on me in the dream one at a time creating such a magical moment. I woke up feeling very hopeful that good things are coming!

I have been fighting a cold this weekend and trying to watch Max at the same time. He is so wonderful! He wore his Grandma out though! I had another Sunday headache complete with sore throat and malaise. I hope it is better tomorrow. March is such a long month workwise. *sigh* Spring is defintely in the air though. More songbirds, sun stays up longer and snow is melting! I am so glad March is coming in like a lamb! About time!

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." ~Charles Dickens

Happy Valentines Day 2010

Jon was on Call today so we decided to all drive out and see him. We brought Valentine's Day to him! It always sucks when it lands on a Sunday and Jon being in another town made things even more of a challenge. It is all about love and being together though (and chocolate doesn't hurt!) so mission accomplished! Maxwell charmed all of the nurses and even some patients in the ER before we went down to Jon's office where we exchanged cards and presents. Max got a stuffed Snoopy from Grandma and Grandpa and the girls both had cards and candy. Rhi had a few homemade cards and Rachel went all out and had something for everyone.

We all had a nice lunch together at the pizza place before we had to head out to get Rhi to choir rehearsal. *sigh* Big day. Tomorrow Jon comes home from Call. Can't wait...

Go Colts!

Wouldn't just be so *wonderful* if the Saints won! It would be like the biggest recovery from the hurricaine! Or Something. Yeah. I don't get it either. Go Colts!
